Discovery Camp

Once again the Thornden Park Association and The New School have set dates for the wildly popular 2020 summer children's Discovery Camp. This year we will be sponsoring five weeks of camp.

Children will explore Thornden Park’s many features, enjoying outdoor activities which integrate art, science, and language arts. Weather permitting, swimming and sprinkler activities will also be enjoyed. Please note that there are TWO registration forms. Please use the Thornden Park Association form for Camps 1 - 3 and The New School form for Camps 4 and 5.

 

Thornden Park Association full-day camp (from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.)

Please use the Thornden Park Association registration form for these camps. The registration fee is $125. Please make the check payable to the Thornden Park Association.  Enrollment is limited to 20 children; staffing will include one teacher and two junior assistants.

Camp 1: Week of July 20, for children entering grades 1 through 5 in September.

Camp 2: Week of July 27, for children entering grades pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, or first grade in September.

Camp 3: Week of August 3 for children entering grades 1 through 5 in September.

 

The New School full-day camp (from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.)

Please use The New School registration form needs to be used for these camps. The registration fee is $175. Please make check payable to The New School. Enrollment is limited to 20 children, and staffing will include one teacher and two junior assistants.

Camp 4: Week of August 10, for children entering grades 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 in September.

Camp 5: Week of August 31, for children entering grades 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 in September.

 

The Thornden Park Association underwrites part of the cost of Camps 1 through 3. The camp is sponsored by The New School and the City of Syracuse Department of Parks and Recreation.

 

You registration fee and completed form will secure your child's place in camp. There will be no refunds of registration fees. Please be sure to make the check out to the appropriate conducting organization (Thornden Park Association for Camps 1, 2, and 3; New School for Camps 4 and 5).
